SO RUDE and condescending. WORST prof. I have ever had. Won't help because she's "too busy" and singles people out in class and makes them feel stupid for not knowing the answer. Takes about a month and a half to give back papers and gives little notice before papers are due. Worst part is her condescending attitude and behavior.
I love Dr. B! Don't underestimate the time you will need to study, however. The exams are quite long but not difficult per se as long as you are comfortable with the material. Dr. Ballard is so, so accommodating outside of class too. She's my absolute favorite prof. in the Psychology department at Geneseo.
Unbelievably rude and condescending. The only prof. in the department that I dislike. She assigns papers due next class, won't help on papers (she's too busy), and takes FOREVER to give back papers. She calls on people randomly and makes students feel inadequate and stupid for not knowing the answer. Talks often about how she is 'overeducated'
Very fascinating class! Must attend class to understand material and get notes from power points. Groupwork is given almost every class, which seems tedious, but becomes very accommodating for exams and counts towards participation grades. Extra credit opportunites are available also. An A is not impossible by any means.
Great class. Dr. Ballard is excellent and is very knowledgeable in the field. I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a Psych elective. The exams are not simple by any means but if you attend class and do the in class work, you should be fine. If you need help, she's also very accommodating if you go to office hours. simple A
I liked her class. I was interested in the material going in, and even though the class is really challenging (you have to REALLY know the material to do well on exams), she's very accommodating and wants everyone to do well. The powerpoint outlines are online and she doesn't go too quickly for you to understand. Very fascinating!
The class is fascinating because it's on material that can be applied clinically. She does ABA in her practice, so she really knows what she's talking about. The exams are impartial and the class has a lot of group work/in class activities to help you understand. Sometimes it seems like busywork, but it's accommodating when it comes time to take the exams.
fascinating class but she makes you do the chapter reading, take a quiz on it and *then* courses what the chapter was... Makes sitting through class tedious since you just took a quiz on the information she's now giving you. Otherwise a impartially simple straight forward class.
My favorite psych class ever! I really liked the activities in class -- great examples that showed how to apply behavior concepts, also got us ready for exams. Exams aren't super simple, but if you come to class, they are do-able. GREAT prof.. Really accommodating in class and out.
Probably the worst prof. I've ever had. She is condescending and treats everyone like children. Be prepared to spend every class doing busy work in small groups and if you don't say EXACTLY what she wants, it's wrong. disliked this class and so did everyone in the class I worked with. AVOID.
This was a tough class and I expected that going into it. She expects a lot out of you but it pushes you to do better, I think. She's definitely tough but impartial, her exams aren't unreasonable and other than reading there's not really hw (but you gotta do the reading!) Really enjoyed this class.
Really great class. She knows exactly what she's talking about because she's actually done it. She's very clear, and I enjoyed her little quirks. Definitely speak up during class, she really likes when courses are interactive. Have to study for the exams, not an simple A, but it you do the work it will pay off.
prof. Ballard is great. The class is difficult but she is very accommodating and prepares you well for the exams as long as you actually do your work. She has some fascinating stories as well :) I would definitely take her class again. |
